MACLEANS'
Posted by: Faith Batson
Region: Halifax Metro
I have spent 10 years trying to find my Gt. Aunt. Her name was Margaret Alice Maclean although on the 1901 Scotland Census she decided to call herself Alice. I found her coming to Halifax Nova Scotia in 1906. She was aged 26 and a Teacher and was born and lived in Nairn Scotland.

I cannot find her anywhere after coming to this port and have no idea of where to look any further for this.

Her Sister Margaret Maclean came to this area in 1920 and 1922, and she gave a name and address to where she would be staying and it was "My Sister & her Husband Mr & Mrs Palmer,Kelowna. Okanagan Lake. I do not know if she stayed in one place or moved on, or whether she married. Another Sister may have also gone to this area and her name was Elizabeth Maclean. I have her on an 1881 Census living at home with her parent's Alexander Maclean & Elizabeth Black in Nairn, and she was also a Teacher. Maybe she married and went there and she married a Palmer I do not know.
I am open to any suggestions or information of where to look for them.
Thank you.
Faith
