Victorian stagecoach tavern/inn, with 12 rooms of exhibits including furnished interiors and theme displays on funerals and mourning, shipping and shipbuilding, and clothing from the 1780s to 1940s. Visit the 'Fairy Sisters' exhibit, Nova Scotia's diminutive answers to General Tom Thumb and other midget artistes of the 1870s. The archival/genealogical collection includes original photographic records, deeds, birth, marriage, death records on microfilm, etc. covering the old townships of Granville and Annapolis.

Scope of Holdings
The collection consists of images of families, streetscapes, panoramic views, businesses, events, etc. of the immediate local area, Annapolis Royal, Granville Ferry and area as well as views of nearby communities such as Bridgetown, Clementsport, Bear River and Digby. The majority date from 1890 to 1950 and were generated by amateur photographers. A significant fonds of negatives is the Al Kingsbury collection from the 1980s (Valley photographer/correspondent for the Halifax Herald Ltd.). Amateur photographer Fred Harris' views of his family and Annapolis Royal, c. 1900; shipping/ships photographs from various sources; professional photographer, Paul Yates collection of photographs, 1915-1940s; the Mills family collection; the Pickup family collection; the Hillsdale/Charlotte Perkins collection, c. 1900, documenting the Hillsdale House (Hotel); the Perkins family and the town of Annapolis Royal. Harold Thorne Stultz collection of portraits c. 1930-1940, Cronin family collection of documents from Lower Granville 1770 - 1890, Tommy Rose Photography collection c.1955 - 1970.

The museum responds to research inquiries. The first half hour is free; donations are welcome. Beyond the half hour the archival committee member negotiates a fee for service.
