A warm welcome awaits visitors to the Colchester Historeum in downtown Truro. An array of exhibits depict the human and natural history of the County from first peoples to the present day, together with a variety of temporary and travelling exhibits. Local history and genealogy publications are for sale. The Archives house extensive documentation and a genealogical library.

Scope of Holdings
Family files, publications, genealogies,charts, scrapbooks, Church registers, townships records, funeral home records, cemeteries, census, obituaries, vital stats from newspapers, school records, maps, minister books, Truro Daily News 1912-1959 and much more.
Extent of Holdings
16 filing cabinets (varying sizes) 2,779 books, approx. 424 boxes, approx 9000 photos, approx. 300,000 negatives, 2000 reels of microfilm.

Research Fees
The Archives responds to genealogical and historical research inquiries by donation.
Off site research ( such as going to the Deeds or Probate) $20.00 -($15.00 per hour plus $5.00 for photocopies ($1.00 per page) and postage - more charged if necessary).
Duplication Fees
Photocopying services are available at 25 cents per page. Photographic reproduction services are available. Fees quoted upon request.

Scope of Holdings
A large collection of photographs depicting community, business, industrial and personal subjects. A collection of negatives from Mosher's Photographs, 1930's-1960's. A collectionof negatives of Wilfred Nichols, late 1950's-1970's. Extensive negative collections from Mosher's Studio, 1930-1960 and W.W. Nichols 1950-1980; Bruce Berry Negatives 1980s-2003.

approx. 4,500 photographs & 138,000 negatives.
