I’m a public affairs co-ordinator at the Halifax Port Authority and I contribute to NovaScotiaBlogs.com to give you an insider’s look at the Halifax cruise experience as well as provide insight on all the great attractions and events happening in the arts-and-culture-rich Halifax Seaport district.
Writing this blog has let me sit back and appreciate some of the great things Nova Scotia has to offer. I grew up here, so I’ve kind of always taken our region’s good qualities for granted…you know, like the Port of Halifax’s diverse cargo business and expanding infrastructure, or the Halifax Seaport’s new attractions and facilities and the nearly 250,000 cruise passengers that enjoy them each year…OK, enough shameless self promotion.
I’ll share stories about the things that make this province an attractive option for people looking to vacation here. I’ll provide regular updates on all the arts, culture and events around the Halifax Seaport and try to capture the tourists’ experience to show you what a cruise vacation to Halifax is all about.
Outside of work, I enjoy hockey, rock music and copious amounts of humour, with the Habs, Foo Fighters and Seinfeld of particular interest. However, the Mooseheads, Plaskett and 22 Minutes aren’t far behind.
If you have any questions, comments, or blog ideas, or if you just want to talk hockey, music or comedy, drop me a line at jdickie@portofhalifax.ca. You can also follow the Halifax Seaport on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
