As kids living in Weymouth Ma,. we were lucky enough to spend summers in Inverness NS with our mom and her cousins. They were the most memorable times in our childhood. Before our last trip to Nova Scotia in 2009, we hadn’t been to Inverness since 1969. Our Mom took sick shortly after our last trip. Growing up we often thought and spoke of the family and the great fun we had in Inverness. In 2009, 40 years since our last trip, we made the trip as adults and reconnected with family and friends from long ago. It was as if time stood still and again it was another memorable visit for us. I can only describe Inverness, NS as Heaven on Earth. Recently we (Clare) won the Discover Your Nova Scotia Roots Contest on novascotia.com. Because of the contest, we will be making another trip to Inverness to discover more about our roots. We’ll be meeting with Nova Scotia Genealogist Terry Punch to learn a little more about our ancestors. And then we’ll head to Inverness to enjoy the sights and sounds of the place we love so well.
