Alexandra Lawrence

Alexandra LawrenceAlex was born and raised in Banbury, England, a small market town famous for the nursery rhyme “Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross” and Banbury Cakes, (a spiced, currant filled, yummy flat cake similar to an Eccles cake).

After completing her A-Levels she worked for a year as a volunteer at an outdoor education centre in rural Wales where her love for all things “outdoors” and wildlife were established.

She attended the University of Wales Swansea where she gained her BSc (Hons) in Geography and met her soul mate and true love. After moving back to Banbury, buying a house and having a child Alex and family decided they wanted more from life! More space, more fresh air, more wilderness and more freedom so they began a quest in search of that special place. They undertook a massive extension to their modest UK property and completely renovated it to enable them to make their life changing move to the beautiful province of Nova Scotia.

Alex is now in the process of re-inventing herself. New country, new home, new friends, new vocation, new woman. She is keen to finally pursue her passion for all things written and hopes that the novascotia.com readers will enjoy her offerings.

I think of Pinterest as a wonderful tool for vision or dream boarding. For many of us, our dreams often include travel and adventure. And for those who are part of our Nova Scotia online community, those dreams include a Nova Scotia. And so begins our adventure with Pinterest.

The big camping experience last winter was spending a night in a yurt at kejimkujik national park. The only problem was finding an open weekend to book one of the two Yurts at the park. With time running out, we booked a single overnight in late March at the Eel Weir Yurt.
