Overview
The 150-acre estate of the award-winning Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages celebrates the beauty and the bounty of Cape Breton Island. Situated on the Cabot Trail, it sits high on a brae overlooking the estuary of the North River as it flows into St. Ann's Harbour. Our staff is pleased to provide personalized touring information and to create daily itineraries for individuals, couples and groups wanting to discover the Cape Breton Island region.

Our accommodations include nine rooms (Double, Queen or King-sized beds) all with ensuite 4-piece baths, and three one-bedroom housekeeping cottages (Twin, Queen or King-sized beds) all with 4-piece baths. An eco-award-winning property, we are chemical- and fragrance-free. Guest can relax with a good book from the extensive library, take the path to the gazebo and pedal boats on the harbour or go into the woods on one of the many nature trails. A buffet breakfast, served between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on the veranda, features organic, locally-sourced food and is included in the Inn room rate. The licensed dining room serves a Cape Breton fresh menu between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. by reservation. German is spoken. Accommodation, dining and attraction packages are available. We are proud members of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia, Taste of Nova Scotia and the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia.

I think of Pinterest as a wonderful tool for vision or dream boarding. For many of us, our dreams often include travel and adventure. And for those who are part of our Nova Scotia online community, those dreams include a Nova Scotia. And so begins our adventure with Pinterest.

The big camping experience last winter was spending a night in a yurt at kejimkujik national park. The only problem was finding an open weekend to book one of the two Yurts at the park. With time running out, we booked a single overnight in late March at the Eel Weir Yurt.
